Stanfield Woman Wins $1 Million From 50-Cent Bet – Defies 1-in-300M Odds

Stanfield Woman Turns 50 Cents Into $1 Million Jackpot Win

Every once in a while, luck shines brighter than anyone could imagine. That’s exactly what happened to Angela Collins from Stanfield, North Carolina, who turned a humble 50-cent bet into a whopping $1,073,621 jackpot. Talk about wild odds — she beat a 1-in-300-million chance to grab that win!

Angela hit the jackpot while playing the PowerMax Cash digital instant game. The incredible moment came when she triggered the game’s “Power Jackpot” feature, sparking the kind of payday most people only dream about. Even though players can wager anywhere from 50 cents up to $50, the jackpot odds are the same, meaning Angela’s small bet packed just as much potential as any big wager.

After taxes, she took home $773,115 in cold hard cash. Collins officially claimed her winnings at the North Carolina Lottery headquarters last Thursday, choosing the lump-sum payout option that many jackpot winners prefer.

Digital instant games like PowerMax Cash have become incredibly popular on the NC Lottery’s mobile app. Players love the quick, easy gameplay — and wins like Angela’s are proof that these online games can deliver serious money. In fact, several players across the state have scored big prizes recently, making digital play a growing trend among lottery fans.

Lottery wins in the Carolinas always grab attention, and neighboring South Carolina had its own big story recently when a man landed a $500,000 Education Lottery prize. Still, Angela’s win stands out — turning 50 cents into a million is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime moment that keeps everyone dreaming of hitting their own jackpot.
