A Texas resident is celebrating a major lottery win after hitting the Texas Two Step jackpot worth more than $1.8 million.
The winning ticket matched every number in the Monday, August 3 drawing, earning its owner a jackpot prize of $1.825 million. The numbers drawn were 4, 15, 19, and 20, with 22 selected as the red Bonus Ball.
The winner has already visited Texas Lottery headquarters to collect the prize. However, they chose to stay anonymous and did not share any details about what they plan to do with the money. The Texas Lottery identified the winner only as a resident of Bremond.
While the person behind the ticket remains a mystery, the location where the ticket was purchased has been revealed. It was sold at CEFCO Food Store #61, located at 101 Mignonette Street in Kosse. The retailer could receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
Texas Two Step is one of the state’s most popular draw games. Jackpots begin at $200,000 and keep growing whenever no player matches all five winning numbers. Drawings take place twice a week, every Monday and Thursday at 10:12 p.m. Central Time.
This latest win is another big moment for the game, although it does not rank as the largest prize in Texas Two Step history. Earlier this year, a player won a huge $2.4 million jackpot in the March 5 drawing. That prize became the second-largest jackpot ever awarded by the game.
The record remains a $2.9 million Texas Two Step jackpot won around two decades ago.
Texas has also been seeing plenty of lucky moments outside its state lottery. At Resorts World Las Vegas, a visitor from Texas recently landed an eye-catching $1,896,388 slot machine jackpot while playing Dragon Link.
The player had reportedly been betting $25 denominations before increasing the wager to $250. That single bigger bet ended up delivering the top prize.
For the anonymous Bremond winner, though, the biggest question now is simple: what comes next after turning one lottery ticket into nearly $2 million?
