Mesa Man Hits Monster Win on “It’s Alive! Frankenstein” Slot at Chandler Casino
A lucky player from Mesa, Arizona, just turned a $15 spin into a massive payday after striking it big on the “It’s Alive! Frankenstein” slot machine at Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Lone Butte in Chandler. The jackpot, which landed last Sunday, now ranks as the third biggest win in the casino’s history.
Casino staff said the winner was spinning the reels on a large progressive slot machine, which means the prize keeps growing as more people play until someone finally hits that life-changing combo. That lucky moment happened late Sunday night.
“I would guess he was pretty happy about that,” joked Jessica Johnson, general manager at the Lone Butte location.
Before the Mesa man could claim his millions, casino staff had to spend several hours confirming the win. Big jackpots like this one require strict checks to make sure everything is legit. “They have to verify the jackpot, which can take a little bit of time,” Johnson explained. “They even had to call the game’s manufacturer to double-check that all systems were good to go.”
The winning slot, “It’s Alive! Frankenstein,” was created by Ready Play Gaming in 2021. The horror-themed game drops players into Dr. Frankenstein’s eerie lab, complete with crackling lightning, creepy monsters, and the buzzing hum of old-school electrical equipment. It’s a five-reel, 25-payline machine with a Return to Player rate of 94.93%.
For fans who like to play online, a similar version exists — NetEnt’s “Frankenstein” slot — known for offering a higher average payout of 96.6% RTP.
Big wins like this don’t happen every day, but they’re what keep the slot energy alive at casinos around the valley. For the lucky Mesa winner, it was just another casual spin that turned into a monster-sized fortune.
One thing’s for sure: Sunday night at Gila River Resorts & Casinos will go down in local gaming history as one electrifying hit.
